About Us

Seventeen Years Keeping Carolinas Businesses Running

If you are not getting the results you want from your technology, let us help. That has been the whole idea since day one.

Who We Are

A full IT department, without the payroll

Remote Technology Services started in Myrtle Beach with a simple observation: most small and mid-sized businesses do not need a technology department. They need technology that works, someone who answers when it doesn't, and a plan that keeps them out of trouble.

Seventeen years and 138 businesses later, that is still the job. We support law firms, dental practices, real estate brokerages, appraisers, and environmental consultancies across the Carolinas — organizations where a morning of downtime is measured in lost billable work, not inconvenience.

We are large enough that someone is always available, and small enough that the person who picks up already knows your network. Many of our specialists have looked after the same client environments for years — there is no rotating queue, and no explaining your setup from scratch every time something breaks.

How We Work

What actually makes the difference

Every IT provider claims responsiveness and expertise. These are the things clients tell us they notice.

We answer

Clients consistently mention getting help at odd hours, on weekends, and often within minutes. Most issues are resolved remotely before anyone needs to drive anywhere.

We prevent, not just repair

Monitoring and patching happen in the background so the ticket you would have filed next month never gets filed. Reactive IT is expensive IT.

We explain it plainly

No jargon, no condescension. You should be able to make a confident decision about your own business without a technical background.

Compliance is built in

Working with dental and legal clients means HIPAA-aware practices and proper documentation are standard, not an upgrade you have to ask for.

We run what we recommend

We operate our own companies on the same systems we deploy. Every recommendation has already been tested against a real payroll and real customers.

You get the same people

Not a rotating queue of strangers reading your history from a ticket. The person who answers knows your environment because they built it.

Who We Serve

Industries we know well

Not a list of everyone we would accept — these are the sectors where we already have years of client history and understand what breaks.

The Team

The people behind the phone

When something breaks, you are not filing a ticket into a void. You are calling people who already know your setup.

Jeff Norris, Founder of Remote Technology Services

Jeff Norris

Founder

Formerly Director of Technology at The Hoffman Group, and a 30-year Grand Strand resident. Built the practice around the idea that technology should produce business results, not just uptime reports.

MBA MCSE

A bench that already knows your systems

Behind the founder is a group of senior specialists we have worked with for years — network engineers, security people, and systems administrators who handle the recurring work across our client base.

Because those relationships are long-standing, the person looking at your server this month is usually the person who configured it. That continuity is the single biggest reason our clients stay: nobody has to re-learn your environment, and nothing important lives only in one person's head.

Whoever does the work, the accountability sits with us. One number, one relationship, one company answerable for the outcome.

In The Community

Rooted in the Grand Strand

Remote Technology Services is not a national brand with a local phone number. This is where we live, where our clients are, and where we have spent our careers.

Beyond the day job, Jeff coordinated the launch of First Tee of Myrtle Beach — helping raise more than $30,000 and writing the business plan for the chapter. First Tee teaches young people positive life skills through golf, using a curriculum built to measure real outcomes rather than attendance.

That work was recognised by The Sun News in its Twenty Under 40 feature.

It is the same instinct that shapes how we run the business: understand the problem properly, build something that works, then measure whether it actually did.

Why local matters for IT

Most of what we do is handled remotely — that is the point of the model, and it is faster for you.

But when a server dies, a building floods, or an office needs cabling before Monday, someone has to physically be there. National providers dispatch a stranger. We drive over.
